Chinese New Year, also referred to as Lunar New Year, is one of the most important festivals for many Asian nations. Traditionally celebrated during the first month of the Chinese Calendar, the event is celebrated with family and friends throughout February.

Although its traditions vary among different nations, there are many similarities between the Chinese New Year customs such as people exchanging gifts and lighting firecrackers. Red is the predominant colour during this holiday, symbolising prosperity, wealth and driving away bad luck.
