Greater Natal International Airport home to the best Brazilian terminal for the fourth time!

The Department of Civil Aviation (SAV) has announced the results of the Passenger Satisfaction Survey for the 4th quarter of 2015 and Natal Airport has been named as the best airport terminal in its class.

This is the fourth time when Greater Natal International Airport, located in the metropolitan area of the capital of Rio Grande do Norte state, has been crowned as the best among the other Brazilian airports with up to 5 million passengers.

Nata’s airport stood out among others for its comfortable departure lounge, friendliness of staff and the sense of safety and security. The airport was also ranked highly for its accessibility and general welfare.

This is great news for the largest airport in South America, established in 2014 to replace Natal’s existing airport, Augusto Severo.

Located just 25 kilometres from Natal’s city centre, the airport provides easy access for domestic and international visitors and has already welcomed over 3,7 million passengers since its opening.

The airport accommodates major airlines such as TAM, TAP Portugal, Gold and Azul Brazilian Airlines to name a few, thus connecting Natal by air with many Brazilian cities as well as international destinations.

The latest addition to the list of airlines operating from Natal’s airport is the Cape Verde national flag carrier, TACV Cabo Verde Airlines. The airline introduced a new flight route in November 2015, operating a weekly service connecting Rio Grande do Norte and Cape Verde.

Indeed Natal airport receives a great deal of interest from many airlines thanks to its strategic positioning and close proximity to Europe and Africa, offering some of the shortest flights from Brazil to many transatlantic destinations. Currently, TAP Portugal operates a direct international flight between Natal and Lisbon at just 6 hours and 15 minutes.

Firm supporters of new infrastructure developments in the Northeast of Brazil, leading property developer Ritz-G5 and its CEO Luiz Fernandes are proud of Natal’s airport. He comments,

“We are very pleased to see how well Natal’s airport has performed since it opened in 2014. It constantly stands out for the great service it offers, thus attracting new businesses to the area and promoting Natal as a modern and thriving city.”
