Construction update: Piramide Grand Mercure Natal
Located directly on the doorstep of the Atlantic Ocean is the Piramide Natal hotel. One of the most prominent and bespoke-designed hotels in the area, Piramide Natal stands out from afar thanks to its unique pyramid shape.
In 2015 Piramide Natal’s ambitious refurbishment plans were announced by the new owners of the hotel, award-winning local developers, Ritz-G5. And a few months later, the refurbishment process is in full swing!
The process began with the furniture removal as well as preparing the site for the upcoming redevelopment. Hundreds of beds, mattresses, chairs and paintings were cleared out from the rooms to make space for new modern furnishings.
The hotel’s swimming pools have been emptied and are in the process of being resurfaced, thus improving the quality of hotels five interconnected swimming pools.
It was also decided to change the current balconies to a modern clear glass design and take advantage of the frontline sea views and so the old balconies are being stripped off from the outside walls making room for new ones.
Most of design inspiration was taken from the stunning surrounding nature and sea views, thus open spaces and windows will be incorporated into the layout. As a result, its visitors will be able to see amazing sea views from almost everywhere in the hotel!
Once the refurbishment is completed and the hotel opens its doors later in 2016, the Piramide Natal will offer prestigious amenities such as a water park, fitness centre, rooftop terrace, 24hr concierge, spa, tennis court and five swimming pools.
Together with the luxurious amenities, the 4-star hotel will offer 315 exquisite guest rooms, each offering a stunning sea view. In addition, conference facilities with capacity for 2,500 delegates will be located on site, marking Piramide Natal the premier private convention centre in Natal.
Furthermore, after the 12-month redevelopment, the hotel will be granted the prestigious title of Grand Mercure, marking Piramide Natal as the first hotel in the region joining the global Accor Group.
